I mill two DuPont Corian discs with several offset arrays of circles prepared to welcomingly accept an interlocked bundle–wink, wink–of locally sourced domestic hardwood dowels, milled just outside of Cincinnati, in my little hometown. With a good twist and a bit of whack–and a little bit of trade magic–it all comes together as a self-supporting structural surface that’s at home all around.
